Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts is partnering with Hinge Health to offer eligible members access to a 12-week, coach-led digital program designed to help adults proactively manage chronic back and joint pain. The program is available at no cost and requires no office visits, no copays, and no claims.

Eligible members will be identified by BCBSMA based on claims history for qualified diagnosis codes.

Please note: Hinge Health is an exercise therapy program and does not replace your existing physical therapy benefit. No claims will be submitted through this program.

What's Included

The Hinge Health program is built around three core components, all accessible through the Hinge Health app.

Personalized Exercise Therapy
Receive a tailored exercise plan developed by physical therapists based on your specific pain area, goals, and ability. Sessions are designed to take about 15 minutes or less and can be completed anytime, anywhere.
Coach-Led Support
Work with a dedicated health coach throughout your 12-week program to reduce pain-related anxiety and depression, improve strength and mobility, and explore alternatives to surgery where appropriate.
Ongoing Access
After completing the 12-week program, participants retain access to all Hinge Health components, including coaching, facilitated social interaction, and educational content, for 12 months following engagement.
Pain Areas Covered

Hinge Health offers programs for a range of musculoskeletal conditions, including:

Back pain: chronic low back pain and related conditions
Knee pain: osteoarthritis, general knee discomfort
Hip pain: hip joint pain and stiffness
Shoulder pain: rotator cuff issues and general shoulder pain
