HYPHENS AND APOSTROPHES ARE NOW ACCEPTED FOR CLIENTS SENDING ELECTRONIC ENROLLMENT FILES

Member names can now include hyphens and apostrophes. Hyphens and apostrophes are reflected on members’ medical and/or dental ID cards (physical or digital) and 1099 HC forms for accounts that currently include a hyphen or apostrophe in a member’s name on your electronic enrollment file.

As a result, members who use hyphens and/or apostrophes in their name will receive a new identification card.

This change doesn’t affect MyBlue usernames because MyBlue requires members to use a verified email address as their username. Special characters aren’t allowed during the MyBlue registration process.

If you’re not currently sending hyphens or apostrophes, please have your Enrollment Administrator contact our Electronic Enrollment Specialist to discuss your request in 2025.
