Enhanced Dental Benefits

Through claims analysis, we identify members who may benefit from enhanced oral care as part of a total health approach. For members with qualifying medical conditions, Enhanced Dental Benefits provide additional support, including full coverage for preventive and periodontal services linked to improved overall health outcomes.

Qualifying conditions include:

  • Diabetes
  • Coronary artery disease
  • Stroke
  • Pregnancy
  • Sjögren’s syndrome
  • Intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (effective October 1, 2023)
  • Mental health conditions (effective October 1, 2023)

Dental Blue Freedom Fact Sheet Enjoy flexibility and savings with Dental Blue Freedom. Choose from the largest network of in-network dentists, with no balance billing and no-cost preventive care. While in-network services offer the best rates, you also have the option to visit out-of-network dentists for added flexibility.
Annual Maximum Rollover Fact Sheet With Dental Blue, you can roll over a portion of your unused dental benefits each year to increase your future maximum benefit amount. This automatic feature helps cover higher out-of-pocket costs for complex procedures, as long as certain criteria are met, such as staying under a claims threshold and remaining in the plan.
Enhanced Dental Benefits Dental Blue includes Enhanced Dental Benefits for members with qualifying medical conditions, offering full coverage for additional preventive and periodontal services. Conditions such as diabetes, coronary artery disease, pregnancy, and more are covered, with no additional cost or impact on deductibles or annual maximums when using in-network providers. Some benefits require self-enrollment through a simple form.
Little Smiles Children Under 13 Fact Sheet Dental Blue now offers 100% coverage for kids under 13, including preventive, diagnostic, basic restorative, and major restorative services. There are no deductibles or out-of-pocket costs for covered services, helping young smiles get the best start in oral health. Annual maximums, exclusions, and out-of-network balance billing may apply.
