Are you up-to-date with the latest Federal and State regulations affecting deposit accounts?
The annual Deposit Account workshop returns! This interactive program features in-depth presentations on emerging issues for deposit accounts and bank operations and an Experts Roundtable discussion featuring guest speakers. Participants will receive an updated printed edition of the Deposit & Fiduciary Accounts In Massachusetts Banks Handbook.
Participants are encouraged to email questions, unique issues, or other potential topics for the discussion to MBA staff, Ben Craigie or Brad Papalardo.
Program Highlights
- Deposit Account Basics: Review of core deposit regulation and disclosure requirements. Plus an update on the latest on Reg CC and other potential regulatory changes coming in 2026.
- Tales From Deposit Operations: Discussion of hot topics in deposit operations including fiduciary and beneficiary accounts, representative payee accounts, personal representative accounts, and POA accounts.
- Impact of the AG Junk Fee Regulation on Deposit Advertising and Operations: Review of the Massachusetts Attorney General's newly released "junk fee" regulations and what we know so far since it’s launch in September.
- Case Studies Working Sessions: In-depth discussion on debanking issues, representment, overdraft APSN, and other issues.
- An Update on ACH Rules from Sean Carter, President, NEACH
